HDMI not working? No picture from console or laptop, what to check
In most cases the culprit is the wrong input, the cable or a resolution setting, not the port itself. These steps take a dozen minutes.

Plug and unplug cables with the devices switched off. Don't force a plug into a port that seems loose or bent.
Step by step
Select the right input
On the remote or with the monitor's button choose the input the cable is plugged into (e.g. HDMI 2). The port number is printed next to the socket.
Unplug and replug the cable
Disconnect the cable at both ends and plug it back in fully. Check the plug isn't bent.
Try another cable and another port
HDMI cables fail quite often. Borrow another cable and plug into a different port on the TV or monitor. If it works, you've found the faulty port or cable.
Try another source
Plug another device into that port, e.g. a set-top box or a laptop. If it works, the problem is in the console or computer, not the TV.
Unplug both devices from power
Unplug the TV and the source for 2–3 minutes, then turn on the TV first and the console or computer second. This often fixes signal handshake problems.
Lower the resolution and refresh rate
An older TV or cable may not handle 4K 120 Hz. Set a lower resolution or 60 Hz on the console or computer. On the TV check an option like “HDMI UHD Color” or “Enhanced signal” for that port.
Update the software
Update the TV's software, and on a computer the graphics card drivers.
- no cable and no source works in that port
- the port is loose, bent or scorched
- the picture appears only when you wiggle the plug
- no port on the TV works

| Console HDMI socket replacement | 340–610 zł |

Repair or buy new?
First swap the cable and try another source, because that solves most problems for pennies. Replacing just the socket usually pays off. If the main board of an old TV has failed, work out whether a new one makes more sense.

Why does my TV say “no signal” over HDMI?
Most often the wrong input is selected, the cable is damaged or the device sends a resolution the TV can't handle.
Can an HDMI cable break?
Yes. Cables fail at the plugs, especially when bent sharply. Replacing the cable is the first step.
Can an HDMI port be repaired?
Yes. Replacing the HDMI socket in a TV, monitor or console is a standard repair-shop job.
