Oven: how to turn off the button lock and child lock
When the oven panel does not respond and a padlock or key is lit, it is the child lock. You can turn it off in a few seconds.

Before switching off the circuit breaker, make sure the oven is cold and the knobs are at zero. Do not touch hot parts. The lock does not erase any data.
Step by step
Check whether the padlock or key is lit
This usually means the child lock is active. Sometimes the word “Lock” or “Loc” also appears.
Hold the padlock button
Hold the button with the padlock (or key) for 3–5 seconds, until the symbol goes out.
Try a two-button combination
On some models you need to hold two buttons together. The details are in the manual under “child lock”. You can find the manual online using the model number.
Reset the settings
Set the knobs to zero, switch off the oven at the circuit breaker for a minute and switch it back on.
Check the panel
Wipe the touch sensors with a dry cloth. Water or grease on the panel can stop it from responding.
- The panel still does not respond after the reset.
- The padlock flashes and the oven does not turn on.
- The knobs turn, but the oven does not heat.
- The panel is damp or scorched.
