LG TV: reset and Magic Remote pairing step by step

Step by step
Do a hard restart
Turn the TV off and unplug it for 60 seconds. With the cable still unplugged, hold the power button on the TV for about 30 seconds, then plug it in and turn it on.
Replace the remote’s batteries
Put in new batteries and clean the IR emitter with a dry cloth. Check it by pointing the remote at a phone camera.
Pair the Magic Remote
Point the remote at the TV and press the wheel (OK). If that does not work, hold Home and Back together for 5 seconds to reset the pairing.
Use the phone app
Install the LG ThinQ app as a backup remote. The buttons on the TV will also work.
Update the software
Settings → All Settings → General. Option names depend on the webOS version, so if you cannot find it, check your model’s manual.
Reset the TV
In the same menu you will find the option to restore initial settings. Warning: the reset deletes apps, accounts and channels, so write down your login details.
